This policy explains what personal information ConsultantExpert (operated by LD Groupe Digital inc.) collects, why, and how it is protected, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA).
LD Groupe Digital inc. is responsible for the personal information collected through ConsultantExpert. Our privacy officer can be reached at privacy@consultantexpert.ca for any question or request about your personal information.
When you sign in with LinkedIn, we receive your name, email, and profile photo. You then provide your specialty, years of experience, skills, languages, rate range, bio, phone number (optional and never verified by us), your last 10 years of work history, your free times for interviews, an introduction video, and a government-issued ID photo used only to verify your identity.
We collect your work email, name, role, company size, hiring interests, and payment information, which is handled directly by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
We use this information to verify identity and experience, to display consultant profiles to paying companies, to process payments, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to communicate with you about your account.
Your ID document is used only for our internal verification. It is never shown to companies, never included in your public profile, and is only accessible to the small team that reviews new profiles.
Before paying, a company sees only an anonymous card: specialty, experience band, general location, languages, skills, and rate range — never your name, photo, contact details, or video. Your full profile, including your video with our watermark, is shown only to a company after it unlocks it.
Your data is hosted with Supabase in a Canadian data center. We use Stripe for payment processing and Resend for transactional email; both act as our service providers and are contractually bound to protect your information.
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by writing to privacy@consultantexpert.ca; we will act on a deletion request within a reasonable time, subject to any information we must keep for legal reasons.
We do not sell personal information. A company that unlocks a consultant's profile receives their contact details for that company's own hiring purposes only, and agrees, as a condition of using the service, never to resell or share that information.
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in securely. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
You have the right to access and correct your personal information, and to withdraw consent where applicable. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
ConsultantExpert is intended for working professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new date.
